We are Closed October 14th-October 19th for Repairs

We are pleased to announce that Broome County will be replacing the air handlers on the Library’s roof in October and would like to thank the County Administration, the Department of Public Works, and County taxpayers for this important investment in our facility. In order to complete the project, the Library will be closed to the public from Monday October 14th through Saturday October 19th. During this time, there will be no public access to the Library property, including our parking lot. We will reopen on Monday October 21st. We will be extending the checkout period for all library materials so that nothing is due during this closure. It is our policy to never charge overdue fees for any of our materials. The other libraries in the Four County Library System won’t be impacted by this project and will remain open as usual.

Knitted Knockers Collection and Classes

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and we will be collecting knitted knockers for the Breast Care Center in Binghamton. We will offer two classes during the month for knitters that need assistance with the pattern. Knitted knockers are special handmade breast prostheses for people who have had breast cancer and undergone mastectomy or lumpectomy. If you are a knitter and want to participate, you can find patterns and list of approved yarns on the Knitted Knockers website. You can drop off donations at the front desk or reference desk. For more information, you can reach out to Sherry Kowalski.
