We are pleased to announce that for the month of April, we will be hosting artwork by local abstract artist and instructor of our youth art classes, Michael Pucek (aka Mr. Mike)! Stop in and check out the art adorning our colonnade walls and elevator exhibit space.
From the artist: "Whenever someone discovers that I paint, they always say, "Oh, so you're an artist?" To which I give my patented reply, "Well, it depends on who you ask."
I give this response for two reasons; first, because Art, like everything else in life, is completely subjective. You like what you like. Period.
Secondly, because for artists like myself, that are deeply rooted in a mishmash of abstract expressionism and teeter on the brink of surrealism, dwelling far and away from the accepted norm of traditional landscapes and related subject matter, this is terribly important, simply from the standpoint that much of my work is inherently interpretive.
I have never been classically trained, nor have I ever had the desire to be. My approach is simple. I basically just play with paint and see what happens.
So, for what it's worth, I offer a smathering of my work for you. They'll speak to you, if you let them. Listen carefully. What are they whispering to you?"
