We are Closed October 14th-October 19th for Repairs

We are pleased to announce that Broome County will be replacing the air handlers on the Library’s roof in October and would like to thank the County Administration, the Department of Public Works, and County taxpayers for this important investment in our facility. In order to complete the project, the Library will be closed to the public from Monday October 14th through Saturday October 19th. During this time, there will be no public access to the Library property, including our parking lot. We will reopen on Monday October 21st. We will be extending the checkout period for all library materials so that nothing is due during this closure. It is our policy to never charge overdue fees for any of our materials. The other libraries in the Four County Library System won’t be impacted by this project and will remain open as usual.

LGBTQIA+ History Month

October is LGBTQIA+ History Month, an observance of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender history, and the history of the gay rights and related civil rights movements.  Come visit us and check out our LGBTQIA+ history display, which spotlights  historical events and influential figures within the LGBT+ community.

October 11 is National Coming Out Day, an annual celebration of everyone that is "coming out of the closet" and acknowledgement that "it's okay if you're not ready yet."

If you are looking for nonfiction and resources for the LGBTQIA+ population and people that wish to learn more, the Dewey numbers below may help. The Dewey Decimal System is standardized across libraries, which means the same numbers work for any library in the Four County Library System.
