Shortened Hours

We are currently short staffed, but will be fully staffed soon. Until we have critical positions filled, we will close Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 5:00. All programs that were scheduled on those nights have been canceled. We are open until 8:00pm on Mondays and Thursdays. We should be back to normal hours by October. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause.

Program Description

Event Details

Chalk the Walk is a community-focused awareness campaign in observance of World Suicide Prevention Day (WSPD). From Sunday September 8 until Monday September 16, 2024 BC SAFE encourages both organizations and individuals to beautify sidewalks and pavement using chalk with messages and images of hope, resilience, suicide prevention, and mental health awareness.

To enter your chalk art in the contest between September 8th and 16th, go to gobroomecounty/com/mh/bcsafe.

We will be announcing the winners of the contest plus showcasing all of the contest entries and shared social media posts. Even if you didn't create any CHALK THE WALK art, this is sure to inspire everyone that comes to experience it.

We are hosting an open mic during the gallery art show. For those that prefer more performative art, this open mic is for you! The theme is HOPE & RESILIENCE (being mindful of appropriate language so as not to be triggering to anyone who might be enduring a trauma). You're welcome to perform poetry, short story, acoustic song/rap, etc. no longer than 5 minutes. Sign up here: https://bit.ly/openmicCTW

We can't wait to see you there!
